Waxing Curriculum

Program / Course Description

The Primary purpose of the Waxing course is to train students in both theory and practical experience to prepare them for immediate employment. The course is particularly directed towards developing in the student, desirable habits and attitudes with respect to health, sanitation, safety, and encouragement towards self-reliance, readiness to assist others, and an ethical approach to the Cosmetology profession.

Course Goals/ Objectives:
  1. Students will receive an education in both theory and practical experience and gain knowledge in all phases of waxing.
  2. To prepare students to work in a professional salon / spa.
  3. To develop employer/employee relationships and effective communication skills.

Week One:

Chapter 2 Skin Disorders & Diseases pages 19-29

Week Two:

Chapter 6 Home Hair Removal

*Thursday practical Models arrive by 5pm Arms & under arms

Week Three:

*Tuesday Test

Chapter 5 Bacteriology, Sanitation, Sterilization pages 44-64

*Thursday practical. Models arrive on 5pm Eyebrows, upper lip, chin, nose

Week Four:

*Tuesday Test

Chapter 3 Endocrine System pages 30-38
