Make-up Artistry Curriculum

Program / Course Description

The Primary purpose of the Make up artistry course is to train students in both theory and practical experience to prepare them to successfully for immediate employment in the Make up field. The course is particularly directed towards developing in the student, desirable habits and attitudes with respect to health, sanitation, safety, and encouragement towards self-reliance, readiness to assist others, and an ethical approach to the Make up profession.

 Week 2

  • All Base Makeup:
  • Concealer / Foundation / Powder application
  • Interpreting Skin Tones, Face Colors and Face Shapes
  • Chromatics for facial enhancement thru
  • Contouring, Highlighting and Blushing.
  • Understanding the Color wheel.

 Week 3

  • All Eyes and Lips:
  • Eyes / Eyebrows
  • Eye shadow application
  • Eyeliner
  • Mascara
  • False Eyelash application
  • Lips

 Week 4

  • Day / Evening / Bridal Makeup Application / Airbrushing Introduction

 Week 5

  • Era Makeup

 Week 6

  • Review for Written Final Exam
  • Fantasy Themes - Television / Movies / Theatrical / Stage / Students Choice

 Week 7

  • Written Final exam: Practical: Multiple Day and Evening Makeup Occasions (Timed) 
  • Certificate Presentation

Cleanliness and sanitation are essential aspect of our profession. Students will be asked to participate in daily and weekly clean-up tasks around the school including bathroom facilities. This is part of the training and will help develop skills and habits that will contribute to future success. In addition, please observe the guidelines that follow:

  1. Keep your equipment intact, clean and sanitized.
  2. Keep your work station and the break room clean. Do not leave open cans, cups etc... on the table. Place pocket books in locker, not at your station!!!
  3. You are responsible for your book, equipment and supplies. If any item is lost or stolen, you need to replace it.
